Come to counseling to find relief from distress.
It helps to have a person you feel comfortable talking with, a person you trust. I will be that person for you. Feelings of being overwhelmed, unsure, sad, scared, irritable are all things that can be addressed in our counseling sessions. I will ask questions, offer feedback, provide information and offer you tools.
Stress
We will consider methods and techniques to deal with stress, including choosing ways to take good care of yourself. You will gain understanding and knowledge that will enable you to deal with stress more effectively. You will develop a sense of being able to be in control, able to survive and cope with what life brings. Our counseling sessions will help you accept your strengths and challenges. You can learn how to work with them to overcome obstacles.
Depression
You need to feel less alone and our working together can help with that. I will help you take steps to come out of the depths, and gain the ability to lessen the effects of returning depression. We will work together to enable you to live with hope. You will do it your way with help and support.
Inertia
It gets in the way of our intentions. Conflicting thoughts can be paralyzing. We will work together to help you gain clarity and strength. Understanding what is important to you and what is getting in the way will help you reach goals. You can make positive choices and take action.
Substance Abuse
Hold onto your courage to quit! Leaving the drugs and alcohol behind is very much worth it. Together we will develop a menu of alternatives you can use when you feel you need the effects of the drugs or alcohol. I have some information to share with you that will change how you think about using. You will find new ways to deal with life.
Career Changes
Career counseling involves life planning with short and long term goals. Being successful requires careful development of goals. We will use assessments and tools to research needed information so you can make informed choices. Get to know yourself, learn what you really need to be happy- not just what someone else thinks you need. Gain an understanding about what your priorities are. I will help you figure out ways to strengthen your actions to support you real priorities. We will use problem solving techniques and your innate abilities so you can take effective action in making your dreams come to reality.
